With Thanksgiving over, the holiday gift buying frenzy is now in full swing. While it would be easy to check everyone off our list in one single swoop (& credit card swipe) down the local drugstore’s gift card isle, I love finding my loved ones personal gifts that show I made an effort & truly care.
As a person living with disabilities due to CMT Disorder, (read more about me here) the gifts I’ve curated below are ones that I want (hopefully my family reads my blogs?) and that I would be blown away to receive.
Although some of the items may have a higher price tag than usual, their reported impact on some (real) reviewers lives has been life-changing. And, ‘‘tis the season to splurge, anyway, right?
Trend-Able is all about empowering people with disabilities to look & feel their best. The following gifts will undoubtedly help anyone with physical challenges to feel more confident, independent, & to ultimately live their best lives. Do you have other great gift ideas? I would love to hear from you in the comments section at the end of this post.

If you surveyed 1000 people with disabilities & asked them, What is your #1 pain point when it comes to housekeeping? I guarantee that “vacuuming” would be at the top of the list! People who own Roomba robot vacuums, swear by them!
Imagine a vacuum that on its own, cleans an entire level of your home, recharging and resuming until the job is done. There are a lot of copies out there, but the Roomba is the best! It has its own App & also works with Amazon Alexa.
I’ve written many posts (like this one here on the Brush Crush) about disability friendly makeup & beauty products, but the Dyson Air Wrap blows them all away! From the same company that makes amazing vacuums, comes a hair tool that curls, drys, straightens, & even removes frizz using very little human effort & heat.
Instead, the styler uses the Coanda Effect, a physical phenomenon where high velocity jet of air meets a curved surface and wraps itself around the curve. Basically, the tool uses air set at low heat to create a vortex so that hair wraps around it. It’s AWESOME! I tried it recently & it’s #1 on my Holiday want list.
If you’ve followed me here and/or on Our Facebook Page for any length of time, then you know I’m a huge proponent of Pilates for anyone with a neuromuscular condition or other chronic conditions. It is simply the best total body workout (that I can do) for strengthening the core & getting killer abs.
Unfortunately, Pilates reformer classes can be costly. This at home Pilates reformer is inexpensive & delivers the benefits of a boutique Pilates studio right to your home – without breaking the bank. With over 300 beginner exercises on the included dvd, you will more than get your money’s worth + increased strength & flexibility.

I’ve looked at a lot of foot & calf massagers, and this one made Oprah’s 2019 Favorites for a reason!
Think of it as your own personal masseuse. Ideal for tired and aching feet, you slip your feet in, put on the optional calf compression sleeves, choose your intensity level, and bask in the glory that includes rolling foot pressure and air compression!
I’m in love with these shoe boots & have bought them for myself, my daughter, & even for a friend. Not only do they actually fit (removable footbed & adjustable straps) but the Out N About sneaker booties by Sorel are warm, lightweight, comfy, & waterproof. Plus, they are seriously cute!
Btw, if you click on these & don’t see your size, most Sorel boots have removable footbeds & offer great traction for people with disabilities. Check out my Boots post here, for other suggestions of boots for orthosis wearers.
I use my Alexa Show every day & love it! The Echo Show is my everyday virtual assistant & she helps me to be more efficient both at home & in my life In general. I love that she has a big screen (I can see it even without my readers) that allows me to both listen to & see the responses to my commands.
I can ask Alexa to schedule things in my calendar, order paper towel on Amazon, tell me the local weather & movie listings, & even make calls. Alexa can turn off my lights, increase the heat in the house, & read me everything from podcasts, Audible books, & even meditations. If you don’t already have one, she’s the best & the Show is worth upgrading too!
Here’s another Oprah pick I’m digging! This awesome rotating makeup brush works with liquid or powder foundation & gives you a streak-free finish in less time and little physical effort.
I will definitely be adding this brush to my Makeup Tips & Adaptive Hacks Post!
This is the easiest solution for all those photos all of us have everywhere. The Skylight frame operates on a simple concept: Its main feature is to display images shot with a smartphone or tablet and instantly beam them to the Skylight frame of a non-technical loved one. Although the Skylight is targeted to older generations who don’t want to mess with tech, the touch screen makes it great for people like myself with fine motor challenges.
If you have fine motor difficulties, manipulating & attaching cell phone & ear phone chargers everyday can be annoying & time consuming! Time to cut the cord: This sleek leather base lets you charge two phones, or AirPods and a phone, simultaneously, just by laying them down to rest on top. Yep, buh bye to manually inserting tiny chargers into tiny holes..That’s what she said! ??

Weighted blankets have been on many chronic illness & disability blogger’s holiday gift lists for years. Why? They are awesome, that’s why!
This one’s warm, super soft, reversible, & comes in a variety of fun colors.
Well, I’m more of a Door Dash kinda girl than a cook, but when I do attempt to make a meal, I want kitchen appliances that make it seamless & create less mess for me to clean up!
Insta Pots may be trendy, but they are actually awesome for people with physical challenges, because with just the press of one button, you can do like 15 things.

As many of you know, problems with your feet can affect your whole life! Common problems like hard skin can cause severe discomfort especially for orthotic & afo wearers.
I regularly use my rechargeable callus remover preventively to ensure my feet are as smooth and pain free as possible. This one is great because it comes with a cute travel bag.
Speaking of feet….I’m in love with the French lavender scent of these microwaveable and comfy slippers. These slippers are featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2019 list & they are unique because they combine soothing warmth with aromatherapy.
These slippers are slip resistant & help to keep my always freezing feet warm & my mind relaxed.
CBD is all the rage & for good reason! They are a natural (you won’t get high) way of treating neuropathy pain & a bunch of other problems. I’ve done a ton of research, and this brand is extremely well respected & reviewed. Also, CBDPure offers the highest dosage of pure Cbd on the market without going to a dispensary. It works!

Forget the razor (and bloody mishaps) with all hair removal products by Flawless. Their tagline is, “Helping Women Everywhere Look And Feel Their Best!” and they definitely help me with my upper lip & all those random chin hairs that seem to pop up every birthday. The perfect stocking stuffer!
Making your home smell better with advanced ultrasonic vaporizing diffusion technology, this diffuser quietly releases a soothing fragrant mist. The humidifier function adds moisture to the air to help you sleep better, cough less and alleviate dry sinuses.
I love my diffuser as it helps me to relax, makes my house smell like a spa, & helps to keep my sinuses clear!

Check out Nike Flyease on the Nike website. I have an ankle foot orthotic (AFO). I have several pair of these that zipper around the ankle. $65 was my last pair
Check Chef’n can opener with a ratchet mechanism so I can open using only my non-dominant left hand. I think the cost is about $20
I am so sorry for the Sudden loss of your dad.
It’s so difficult losing a loved one but particularly around the holidays.
Your blog has been a lot of help to me and it seems like it’s continuing to grow and I myself am very grateful for that.
Hi Sondra,
Thank you very much! It has been really hard losing both parents so suddenly in the last two years. This blog & readers like you are helping me to grieve & get through it all easier as I feel like I’m helping others. ??
Thanks Lainie! Great guide! I have the Roomba & it helps me so much. I really WANT the Dyson air wrap & the changing photo frame. Happy Holidays to you from Oklahoma!
Hi Lisa,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read & comment! Yes, those are both awesome! The Dyson is on my wish list too as I own the Roomba
